The Rebis Piano Duo was founded in 2021 at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. The duo consists of young pianists Anja Ignjatović and Anđela Cakić, who began their artistic collaboration after joining the class of Professor Jasna Tucović. Under her mentorship, they have developed a distinctive approach to chamber music and a shared musical sensibility.
From the outset, the duo has distinguished itself through its dedication to exploring the rich repertoire for piano four hands and two pianos. Their work has led to performances at some of Belgrade’s most prominent venues, including the Italian Cultural Institute, the Student Cultural Centre and the UK Parobrod cultural centre.
A particularly important milestone in their career was their appearance at the UMFEST festival, where they performed Alfred Schnittke’s Gogol Suite.
Combining their talents and shared artistic vision, the Rebis Piano Duo strives to present the classical repertoire in a fresh and authentic way, affirming its place as one of the most promising chamber ensembles of its generation.
Anđela Cakić (2001) is a master’s student of piano at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, where she studies under Professor Nenad Radić.
She began learning the piano at the age of seven at Professor Đorđe Dimitrijević’s private music school in Leskovac and gave her first public performance only a few months later. She enrolled at the Stanislav Binički Primary Music School in Leskovac, initially studying under Professor Vesna Baljozović. She later continued under Professor Nemanja Stanković, with whom she also completed her secondary music education with the highest marks.
During her education, she won numerous awards at national and international competitions. Her most notable achievements include being named category laureate at the KLAVITAS International Piano Competition in Smederevo in 2017; first prizes at the International Competition of Young Pianists in Vranje in 2012 and 2013; second prize at the same competition in 2019; second prize at the Davorin Jenko International Competition in Belgrade in 2012; second prize at the KLAVITAS International Piano Competition in Smederevo in 2019; and third prizes at the National Competition for Students of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia in 2013 and 2015.
She has performed at prominent venues in Belgrade and other Serbian cities, including the Grand Hall of the Kolarac Endowment, the Russian House in Belgrade, the Student Cultural Centre, the Italian Cultural Institute, the UK Parobrod cultural centre, the Museum of Theatre Arts of Serbia, the National Theatre in Leskovac, the Niš Symphony Orchestra Hall and the Smederevo Cultural Centre.
During her education, she also took part in several closing concerts held as part of LEDAMUS – the Leskovac Music Festival.
From 2013 to 2022, she received awards from the City of Leskovac Fund for Young Talents. In recognition of her outstanding achievements and high grade-point average during her undergraduate and master’s studies, she was awarded a Dositeja Scholarship by the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia.
Anja Ignjatović (2003) is a master’s student of piano at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, where she studies under Professor Vladimir Milošević.
She received her first music lessons at the Stanislav Binički Primary Music School in Leskovac. A year later, she enrolled in the Piano Department, studying under Professor Mila Veljković, with whom she also completed her secondary music education with the highest marks.
During her education, she participated in numerous national and international competitions, achieving notable results. Her most significant awards include first prize at the International Competition of Young Pianists in Vranje in 2014; second and third prizes in the solo piano category at the National Competition for Students of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia in 2012 and 2014; and second prize in the piano duo category in 2017.
She has taken part in numerous concerts and cultural events in Leskovac, both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles. She has also attended masterclasses led by Professors Biljana Gorunović and Maja Rajković.
She has performed at prominent venues in Belgrade and other Serbian cities, including the Student Cultural Centre, the Italian Cultural Institute, the UK Parobrod cultural centre, the Russian House in Belgrade, the National Theatre in Leskovac, Leskovac City Hall and the Music School Hall in Pirot.
From 2013 to 2021, she received awards from the City of Leskovac Fund for Young Talents. In recognition of her outstanding achievements and high grade-point average during her undergraduate and master’s studies, she was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia.
