About the Performance

A Dream of Nine Doves is both a contemporary and an ancient dance fairy tale. Ceremonial songs and dances, rituals and rites, mythologies and technologies intertwine in a choreographic story about the timeless Woman.

Whether she is Morana from Slavic mythology, a fairy, a witch, a factory worker, or a dancer taking part in a ritual or a rave, archetypes speak through her being and her body.

As an archetype of Woman, the protagonist explores and transcends both her own boundaries and ours—mental, emotional and physical; imagined and real; personal and historical; conscious and subconscious.

The dance performance A Dream of Nine Doves challenges the audience’s perception by transcending the traumas inherited through tradition. A confrontation with the unrest within us takes the audience on a journey through fear of the unknown, the theft of dreams, collective and personal memories, conflict and reconciliation.
